This Bougarabou from Mali carved out of Gmelina Wood, carved and headed somewhat in the Senegalese style of Bougarabou with the cow hide with the hair removed.
- One thing for certain is the Malian Bougarabous are headed and tuned somewhat higher than the Ivorian or Ghanaian Bougarabous we’ve carried over the years. Of course, part of the difference is also these don’t have the hair to muffle the higher notes.
